Keeper Team Adventure Race 2 March 2024

Event Overview

The event will have two courses–

Both Courses will have an element of Straightforward Navigation. Mountain Biking Only for both
Race. Race HQ and Start area will be in Ballinahinch GAA Club E45 WV63.

1. Sprint Race (3Hrs Max) – Suitable for those new to team adventure races with easy navigation
Start Time, Registration open’s at 11am, race briefing at 12.15pm and race starts at 12:30 sharp  @Ballinahinch GAA Club.

2. Endurance Race ( 6 Hrs Max) – Suitable for those looking for a bit more of a challenge
Start Time Registration open’s at registration from 8am, race briefing at 9.15am and race starts at 9:30am Sharp  @Ballinahinch GAA Club.

Please note any updates to time will be published on the race briefing which will be sent out By Email a few days before hand.

Both races will be for teams of 2 – Either all male/female or mixed teams, all racers must be over 18 years of age.

For the Overall ARI national team Series, this race result will count for one of the 5 Races in the overall series & prizes!

Activities Involved: MTB Only

Non-Technical Course / Easy to Navigate

Mountain Bikes are compulsory for this race.

Course maps (2 per team) will be provided to each team on race morning, with all race controls marked on the map.

Route choice Support Provided if needed

Endurance Course – Designed to Challenge

6Hrs Duration

Activities Involved: MTB Only

Semi -Technical Course / With Moderate Navigation Challenge

Mountain Bike compulsory for this race..

Course maps (2 per team) will be provided to each team on race morning, with all race controls marked on the map.

Mandatory Kit:

Only Paper Map & Compass may be used for navigation

You Are Not Permitted To Use Phone, Watch or similar GPS Type Device for navigation purposes in this event

Mandatory Race Kit :

  • Maps (2 per team) will be provided on the morning of the race
  • MTB are mandatory, must be in good working order for both the sprint and endurance
  • Enough food and water for the duration of the race
  • Quality Waterproof Jacket and Over pants
  • Space blanket – 1 per person
  • First Aid Kit (one per team) includes antiseptic wipes, plasters, triangular and Crepe bandage with fasteners)
  • Whistle
  • Bike Map Holder (Minimum one per team) RECOMMENDED only
  • Mobile Phone in a waterproof case will be sealed at registration (one per team)
  • Bike Helmet
  • Spare Tube, pump & tyre levers
  • Bike lights mounted on the front and back of the bike – Flashing lights to be on at all times when on the bike
  • Highlighter would be recommend to mark up your route on your map

Parking: There is plenty of parking at Event HQ in Ballinahinch GAA Club E45 WV63.

The GAA facilities: Showers are available. There will be tea, coffee and sandwiches available free after the race, in an effort to avoid waste we would encourage people to bring their own keep-cup or travel cup,

Water: there will be water available at the start/finish, so please bring your own water bottles or use your bike bottle?
