Galway Team Adventure Race
The event will have two courses–
ARIs Galway Team Adventure Race will take place on Saturday 11th April 2026.
The race will consist of forest orienteering &, road biking mainly.
For Sprint event only any road, cross, hybrid or mountain bike will do.
For Endurance Race Mountain Bike is mandatory
Open mountain orienteering and a short sea SUP (stand up paddle) section weather permitting
Race HQ and Start area is Kinvara, Co Galway (Only a few min off M18 and 2 hours form M50)

1. Sprint Race (4 -> 5Hrs Max) – Suitable for those new to team adventure races with easy navigation and type of bike.
Start Time: Registration open’s at 10am, race briefing at 10:45am and race starts at 11am sharp. (Juniors will compete on sprint race course).
2. Endurance Race (8 Hrs Max) – Suitable for those looking for a bit more of a challenge physically and navigationally.
Start Time: Registration open’s at 9am, race briefing at 9.45am and race starts at 10am sharp
Only Paper Map & Compass may be used for navigation
You Are Not Permitted To Use Phone, Watch or similar GPS Type

Mandatory Kit:-
Mandatory Race Kit :
MTB are mandatory in the endurance
Quality Waterproof Jacket and Overpants per person
Space blanket – 1 per person
First Aid Kit (one per team) includes antiseptic wipes, plasters, triangular and Crepe bandage with fasteners) (one per team)
Whistle one per person
Bike Map Holder (Minimum one per team) RECOMMENDED only
Mobile Phone in a waterproof case (Minimum one per team)
Bike Helmet one per person
Spare Tube, pump & tyre levers (Minimum one per team)
Bike lights mounted on the front and back of the bike – Flashing lights to be on at all times when on the bike one per person
Route Details will be Given to Participating on the morning of the race.
We will provide SUP boards, lifejacket and paddle, per team, teams can beg, borrow or steal SUP boards for race from family and friends,
No Recees / Investigation of the course or Control locations is permitted in advance of the event
Map will be given out once Team are Registered, & Kit Check complete.

Prize giving will take place at 6.30 pm
Winning Teams in Male / Female / Mixed / Junior Categories in each distance event will be awarded
